J944N Grace Academy

Nepal, Indian Subcontinent

The Situation

Grace Academy in Kathmandu, Nepal came from humble beginnings in 1997 when a local pastor started a school for children whose parents could not afford to send them to school. The school quickly grew and has since become a government-recognised academy offering education to over 400 students from pre-school to year 10. Grace Academy prioritises the most disadvantaged children and teenagers from nearby communities. In recent years the school has been acknowledged for its high quality education and their year 10 students often achieve high scores in their SEE exams (school leaving exams).

Today the project aims to see more disadvantaged Nepalese children attending high-quality education. The project is currently expanding with a new campus, and building has commenced thanks to the generous donations from people like you. Land was purchased in 2020 and building of a second school commenced in 2021 at the community of Dukuchap which is a short distance from central Kathmandu.

The Objectives

  1. To provide value-based education to children from economically disadvantaged families so that they have a role in improving their own lives as well as their families.
  2. To give children a purpose and opportunity to positively contribute to their own society.
