J1264N Classrooms for Moshi Kids

Tanzania, Africa

The Situation

At the Moshi Kids Centre in Moshi, Tanzania, children who are vulnerable or living in challenging circumstances are given a safe and supportive place to learn, grow, and thrive. The Centre works with children who are often affected by poverty, neglect, or the loss of parents, providing them with daily meals, basic health support, emotional care, and access to education. Many families in the Moshi area face economic hardship, and children may be forced to leave school to help at home or work to support their families. Others live on the streets or in unstable environments, putting them at risk of exploitation, abuse, or poor health.

The Moshi Kids Centre steps in to offer stability and hope, focusing on education, life skills, and personal development so that these children have the opportunity to build a better future. Alongside academic support, the Centre creates a nurturing community where children experience love, encouragement, and dignity. By meeting immediate needs and investing in long-term opportunities, the project helps break cycles of poverty and vulnerability, ensuring that every child has the chance to reach their full potential and contribute positively to their community.

The Objectives

GDG project J1264N will partner with Moshi Kids Centre to complete the construction of 2 classrooms which will enable a further 50 children to be educated.
