Cambodia, Southeast Asia

Happy Days Cambodian Village School is a non-profit charity registered in Australia with a mission to positively impact the lives of children from peasant rice farming families in northwest Cambodia, near the world heritage-listed historical temples in the Angkor complex. The average family income is less than $2,000.

The charity, established in 2011, operates its own English education center located 40 minutes outside of Siem Reap city, where over 250 students attend free classes each week. These classes run between 3 pm and 7.30 pm, following the students' completion of their state school classes.

Since its inception, the charity has provided over $800,000 in assistance. Local Cambodian teachers are employed to ensure students receive the best possible opportunity to develop their English skills. Additionally, the charity awards university scholarships to four students each year, with over 20 students having already graduated. Some of these university graduates have returned to their home village to serve as assistant teachers at Happy Days School.

Volunteer assistants from overseas are welcome at any time. You can contribute to sponsoring a university scholarship through a tax-deductible donation via the donate portal below.
