The Situation
This project is part of the Madhipura Christian Hospital (MCH), started in 1953. It is one of the hospitals of the Emmanuel Hospital Association(EHA). A community outreach and transformation project was started in 2008 after a severe flood. It has been able to bring about changes in areas including livelihood security, disaster risk reduction, non formal education, reduction in trafficking of children and improved health and nutrition.
The Objectives
- The Community Training Centre was started to train the community workers and village youth in various areas pertaining to development and health. The project has now expanded to include vehicles and equipment required for the hospital and community clinics.
