Medical Van Project: Bringing Healthcare to Everyone

The Medical Van Project is designed to provide free medical services to people in the slums in Kolkata and nearby areas who cannot easily access healthcare. Our goal is to reach out to communities that are often left out due to distance or cost, ensuring they receive the care they need to stay healthy.

What We Do:

  1.   Free Medical Check-ups and Vaccinations: Our van visits different communities daily to offer free check-ups, vaccinations, and health screenings. This helps catch health issues early and prevent diseases from spreading.
  2.   Treatment for Common Ailments: We provide basic medical care for common illnesses and injuries, ensuring people get the treatment they need without having to travel far or pay high fees. We have a doctor and a nurse in the van with an adequate supply of medicines that we provide proper treatment and guidance free of cost.
  3.  Specialized Care: We also offer special services for mothers and children, dental care, and support for mental health, recognizing the importance of comprehensive care for all aspects of health.
  4.   Health Education: A big part of our work is teaching people about healthy living. We give advice on good nutrition, hygiene, and how to prevent illnesses, aiming to reduce the number of preventable diseases in the community.
  5.   Training Local Health Workers: We train local health providers to improve the quality of care in these communities. By involving locals in health activities, we ensure that our efforts are sustainable and continue to benefit the community in the long run.
  6.   Monitoring and Research: We keep track of community health trends and gather data to make informed decisions about future healthcare needs. This helps us adjust our services to better meet the needs of the people we serve.

Through these efforts, the Medical Van Project helps communities take control of their health, making sure everyone has access to the care they deserve.
