The Situation

Joshua Care International (JCI) is a community development project that works with disadvantaged communities living in the Bagumbuyan region of Taguig. The project particularly focuses on assisting displaced people and people living in and around the Bagumbuyan Cemetery. These communities have been outcast and many have made their homes amongst the tombs. The project aims to improve the lives of the underprivileged children and their families through education and health care programs.

The Objectives


  1. Care for 8 vulnerable at-risk children in the JCI house by permanent JCI houseparent's.
  2. Reduce the continuous growth of out of school youth with in Bagumbayan by sponsoring 100 disadvantaged children with school and college education.
  3. Address medical and health issues by providing a nutrition support program, basic medical care clinics; providing nutritional, hygiene and first aid education; working with other organisations sharing resources to effectively administer medical aid; meeting specifically identified children’s life-threatening, mobility and standard of living medical needs.
  4. Livelihood Training and Income Generation Initiatives providing families the opportunity to earn an income.
