J1260N Hope for Myanmar
Myanmar, Southeast Asia

Education, community projects, emergency aid and food security have been the main areas of focus for this work over the past 20 years, providing practical assistance and hope to children and families experiencing extreme poverty. Making A Difference to people’s lives.
Our primary and ongoing initiative is the Future Stars Preschool in Yangon, which serves children from disadvantaged communities and supports their continued education through the Back-to-School program (March). This effort has been complemented by community projects including the provision of water filters, toilets, housing, and medical and food assistance for these communities and others. Additionally, an annual Christmas program supplies food to families and distributes Bags of Hope to children. Because of the quality of the service, trust has been built in the local community, resulting in the Preschool becoming a focal point of that community.
Since 2019, experienced project partners have joined us, bringing established community programs. Their activities include weekly children's feeding programs, practical food aid, supporting an accredited college for high school graduates, community worker and pastoral training, and aiding community workers in semi-rural and rural Myanmar, where poverty is especially severe. More information about the individual projects is available on our website www.hopeformyanmar.org.au.
A dedicated team of volunteers and donors from Australia and abroad collaborating with a dedicated team in Myanmar are working together to Make A Difference.
