In partnership with People's Evangelical Church (PEC) and Goodlife Community Church
The Situation
Myanmar is facing ongoing political instability, civil war, and widespread corruption, which have severely disrupted education and economic opportunities. Children and youth in rural and ethnic minority areas face geographic isolation, poverty, and limited access to quality schooling. Gender disparities persist, and many young people are forced to leave school to work. Youth unemployment is high due to skill gaps and economic instability, while widows and their children struggle to meet basic needs and secure a self-sufficient future. Boarding facilities and local schools are scarce, leaving many without the support needed to continue their education.
The Objective
Goodlife Myanmar Support aims to provide comprehensive education and vocational training for youth from rural and ethnic minority areas of Myanmar. Through boarding homes and vocational programs, the project will support students with housing, meals, and schooling, helping them access higher education and future employment opportunities. The initiative also seeks to empower widows and their children by providing care and pathways to self-sufficiency. PEC plans to educate and support youth, enabling them to overcome barriers caused by conflict, poverty, and social marginalization.
