The Situation
J674N KEP Gardens Community Project seeks to improve the Kep Gardens community in Cambodia in the areas of, health care services, hygiene, sanitation, child development and education and will do so by implementing programs and services into the local primary and high schools.
The Objectives
- Combat poverty created through lack of education by providing English classes for students, providing playgroups that are designed to encourage reading amongst 1-4 year olds, providing books in a library, and the creation of leadership programs and debating teams for high school students.
- Improve the living standards of the families living in the community. This will be done through the education of students on personal hygiene, providing annual health and dental care checks, and HIV/AIDs, drug, environmental, road safety and water safety presentations and seminars that will create awareness on those often ignored topics.
- Offer vocational training in the areas of trade and agriculture aimed to broaden their job prospects after graduation.
