The Situation

The Rural School Project in Cambodia seeks to combat poor facilities surrounding the current schooling system in rural Cambodia.

The Objectives

1. Construction of new facilities, providing rural schools with electricity and creating awareness of the importance of education, especially for young girls.
2. New schools will be constructed in order to attract new students, wells will be constructed to ensure safe drinking water is accessible, and separate toilet blocks will also be constructed to ensure female students feel comfortable coming to school.
3. Issues of gender equality and discrimination towards women will be proactively addressed within schools and the wider community to ensure females are being encouraged to attend school.
4. Each school will be provided with access to power and technology, with the goal of each student having a basic level of English and computer literacy being sought after.
