In partnership with Christina Noble Children’s Foundation Vietnam and Christina Noble Children’s Foundation Australia (CNCF)
The Situation
Although Vietnam has made significant progress in economic and social development in recent years, many vulnerable children and families continue to experience hardship, particularly in remote rural communities and areas with limited access to services. Disparities between urban and rural areas remain, with many families facing poverty, limited education opportunities, poor health access, and increased risk of exploitation, school dropout, and family separation.
Since 1989 CNCF works to support vulnerable children, young people, and families in Vietnam through practical, child-centred programmes that strengthen protection, improve access to education and healthcare, and help families remain safely together wherever possible.
The Objectives
- Support vulnerable children and young people at high risk of exploitation, neglect, school dropout, or family separation to remain safely within, or reintegrate back into, their family unit where appropriate.
- Strengthen family structures by supporting parents and caregivers, while ensuring ongoing safeguarding and child protection follow-up.
- Improve access to healthcare through the Medical Assistance Programme, providing financial assistance for disadvantaged children to receive urgent and essential medical care.
- Strengthen paediatric healthcare capacity through the Medical Exchange Programme, supporting international medical exchange, training, and skills development for local medical professionals.
- Improve education opportunities through child sponsorship, education scholarships, and practical support to help children and young people remain in school.
- Increase access to clean water and improved sanitation through water tanks and WASH training.
