Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Joshua Care International
This year marks J357 Joshua Care International’s 10th Anniversary, and the celebrations was held at House of Praise, Springwood on the 8th November 2014.
Sharon del Valle, the founder of J357 Joshua Care International was honored by her family and her team on stage with moving speeches and also a decade of memories and milestones on a presentation.
Sharon gave a moving speech to guests about how she was inspired to establish Joshua Care International. She said” Ten years ago I met a bright eyed girl in the graveyard and Joshua Care began. We started by sponsoring a few children to go to school and in 10 years more than 100 children have been sponsored by Joshua Care International. Some have now graduated from University and they are gainfully employed.” She also highlighted how education receives a lower priority than the daily survival issues but it is essential for the children to have a future that can rise above these conditions.
Flora Chong gave a speech on behalf of Global Development Group, congratulating this special event and expressing the appreciation of the partnership with J357 Joshua Care International.
The MC of the night, Eden del Valle held a panel four including Sharon, a longtime supporter of the project, a board member, and a staff member. It was a good event for all their supporters over the years. Sharon also used this opportunity to give thanks to this charity’s long-time supporters by inviting them on stage and presenting them a gift; Geoff and Betty Armstrong were invited to the stage too.
One of the best comments was unsolicited from their treasurer and Board member who praised Global Development Group for handling all the documentation and registrations for them – something they could not do themselves.
Global Development Group Project Office Manager, Fe Luscombe commented” Joshua Care (Sharon and her team) is a Partner who truly appreciates and values partnership with us knowing that they could not do it without us.”
