The COVID-19 situation and the resulting border closures
have had a significant impact on our ability to monitor our
projects.
With Australian staff grounded and GDG representatives’
unable to travel within their respective countries and regions,
we have had to adapt and utilise alternative methods to
connect and monitor projects.
During the year we have increasingly used Zoom to connect

Fundraising is another aspect of work that has had to adapt
and move online as a result of limitations and restrictions
on people gathering together. Virtual fundraising dinners,
auctions, speaking events, parties, major activity challenge
campaigns, competitions and other initiatives have been
held online with our partners to raise funds over the last year
utilising digital platforms. In some cases, this has resulted in
increased reach and engagement over traditional methods
through social media and the ease of distribution and
promotion through personal online networks. Page 34 shows
