Partner Fundraising Event: Irene Gleeson Foundation Dinner (J746 & J747)

On 6th November 2014, Geoff (Executive Director) and Betty Armstrong attended the annual Irene Gleeson Foundation dinner, partner for projects J746 & J747 in Uganda.

Upon arrival at the function, Geoff & Betty were greeted by IGF Uganda Director John Paul Kiffasi and Ps Alfred as well as a number of the IGF team including Paul and Alice Zagorski and were made to feel very welcome.

Geoff & Betty were seated at John Paul’s table with Ps Alfred, Exodus (multi-award winning Ugandan Gospel artist) as well as some of the late Irene Gleeson’s relatives.

The function was attended by approximately 200 people including many familiar faces. Rev Fred Nile, MP, was in attendance too and spent time in conversation with Geoff and Betty. One feature of the night was to launch and promote Irene’s book, co-authored by Nicole Partridge, ‘Heart of a Lioness’ in addition to Exodus performing a number of songs.

Geoff & Betty and Global Development Group were acknowledged as honoured guests and their contributions to the projects over the years were appreciated. Geoff responded with words of encouragement and thanks. Other honoured guests and supporters were also recognised and acknowledged throughout the night.

The function was very well-presented and thoroughly enjoyable. It was particularly poignant for the launch of Irene’s book on how IGF was started.
