J1090N Nourishing Futures of Rajasthan

India, Indian Subcontinent

The Situation

School age children are the future of any country, however their nutritional status in India is less than desirable. Approximately one fourth of all children between 5 and 9 years of age and between 10 and 19 are malnourished. The prevalence of malnutrition is higher in rural parts of the country.

The Objective

  • Develop and operational model for mainstreaming fortified staples in the mid-day meal to contribute to improved nutrition and health status of school children in Rajasthan, India.
